Gray Area is an art-and-technology nonprofit and event venue housed in the historic Grand Theater at 2665 Mission Street, hosting electronic music performances, immersive media arts exhibitions, talks, and community events. The former single-screen cinema was built in 1940 and was reactivated as Gray Area’s permanent home in 2014; the main theater supports standing shows and seated programs. Set in the Mission District near 24th & Mission, it’s surrounded by restaurants and nightlife.
