Since 1898, the Ferry Building has stood as an iconic landmark and gateway to San Francisco, visited annually by millions of visitors. A civic gathering place for residents and tourists alike, the Ferry Building is a hub for Bay Area culture. The Marketplace is home to nearly 50 local artisan food merchants, restaurants and small eateries—all located in an architectural jewel with panoramic views of the Bay.

Validated parking is available at the ProPark lot at Embarcadero & Washington; additional paid parking is at Rincon Center, Golden Gateway Garage (Clay St), and Pier 3. Rates and validation details are published by the Ferry Building.

Public transit

One block from Embarcadero BART/Muni Metro; Muni historic E Embarcadero and F Market & Wharves streetcars stop directly in front. The site is also served by Golden Gate Ferry and San Francisco Bay Ferry, with access to the California Street Cable Car line nearby.
