Gregory “Sugarbear” Elliott is the longtime lead singer and bassist associated with Washington, D.C.’s go-go group Experience Unlimited (E.U.). E.U. scored a major crossover hit with 1988’s “Da Butt,” which reached No. 35 on the Billboard Hot 100 and appeared in Spike Lee’s film School Daze. Sugarbear has fronted the band through multiple lineup changes and remains a recognized figure in the D.C. go-go scene.
