Martha High began her career in the early 1960s as a member of a female vocal group and later launched a solo recording career with a 1979 album. In 2024 she formed Martha High & The Funky Divas (with Bernadette Pires and Mayke Smit), released new singles and has toured internationally with ensemble backing. She is the author of a memoir and has received lifetime-achievement recognition for her decades-long work in soul music.
