About
“Grace Kelly plays with intelligence, wit and feeling. She has a great amount of natural ability and the ability to adapt that is the hallmark of a first-class jazz musician.” -Wynton Marsalis
GRACE KELLY sets a new direction.
While the most famous Grace Kelly was a star in the movies, and a real-life princess of Monaco, this 21 year old Korean American singer/songwriter/ saxophonist Grace Kelly is an up-and-coming star in her own right.
Huey Lewis, Harry Connick Jr, Dave Brubeck, Gloria Estefan, Esperanza Spalding, and Wynton Marsalis surely have, picking Grace to record and/ or perform with them. And that’s only to name but a few of the musicians who have fallen in love with her genius, her scintillating vocals and soulful saxophone.
This Grace Kelly has led her own band in over 600 concerts in such venues as the Hollywood Bowl, Kennedy Center, Carnegie Hall, Symphony Hall and major festivals such as Montreal, Newport, and Montreux and notable clubs around the world.
Grace wrote her first song when she was 7 years old, recorded her first out of 8 independently released CD’s at 12, and arranged and performed an original composition
with the Boston Pops Orchestra at 14. Grace has been featured on CNN. com (Making of a Prodigy), Glamour Magazine (Top Ten College Women 2011), and multiple appearances on NPR.
Grace has also won many awards some of which include ASCAP Composer Awards, Downbeat Magazine Awards, Boston Music Awards, FNX/Phoenix Best Music Poll, and multiple International Songwriting Competitions.
The legendary producer Stewart Levine (Simply Red, Hugh Masekela, The Crusaders, Joe Cocker, BB King, Minnie Ripperton, Jamie Cullum) and Sunny Levine are now working with Grace on her new musical direction developing with her a fresh sound.
Grace’s new music blends genuine lyrical expression, enveloping melodies, infectious grooves, and soul inspired saxophone playing. Growing out of Graces’ multiple talents and backed by Sunny Levine’s creative drumbeats and synth production, the new work is entitled WORKING FOR THE DREAMERS and was masterfully produced by Stewart Levine.
