The quartet's classic lineup featured lead singer Levi Stubbs alongside Abdul 'Duke' Fakir, Renaldo 'Obie' Benson and Lawrence Payton. They rose to international fame in the mid-1960s with hits such as "I Can't Help Myself (Sugar Pie Honey Bunch)" and "Reach Out I'll Be There" and remained prolific touring performers. The group was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990.
